Guys & Dolls On Stage Well done to Student Welfare Leader Mr Herring who has recently been on stage in Rugby Theatre’s production of ‘Guys & Dolls’. This is a musical romantic comedy involving the unlikeliest of Manhattan pairings: a high rolling gambler and a puritanical missionary, a showgirl dreaming of the straight-and- narrow and a card game manager. Guys and Dolls tells of con-man Nathan Detroit’s efforts to find a new life for his illegal but notorious card game. When their trusty venue is found out by the police, Nathan has to quickly find a new home for his game. He doesn’t have the money to secure the location that he finds. Enter Sky Masterson, a gambler willing to take on any honest bet with a high enough reward attached. Nathan bets Sky that he can’t take the “Doll” of his choosing to Havana, Cuba, with him on a date. Tap your feet as the drama unfolds and this musical takes you from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana & relish such classic songs as “Luck Be a Lady”, "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat" and the beautiful ballad "I've Never Been in Love Before". Food Safety Week From Monday 4 th to Friday 8 th June, it was the Food Standards Agency’s ‘Food Safety Week’ which aims to shine a light on the people working day in, day out, to make sure consumers can trust the food on their plates. As a school we’re pleased to report that our catering facilities have a ‘very good’ hygiene rating.
