APOLLO HOUSE
I am pleased to report that most of the students in Apollo House are working incredibly hard to achieve their best , and this has been reflected in the number of various awards and certificates issued since September . Out of 270 students , 53 have received a Bronze certificate for reaching 150 house points and Francesca Hallam ( 8EOR ) is our first student to have received a Silver certificate as she has now reached over 300 house points . Each Friday , Miss Davies has the pleasure of meeting a few students for the Headteacher ’ s Awards and over 30 students from Apollo have received one of these so far this year . 60 students received a Gold Book award just before Christmas , for their excellent effort and achievement in specific subjects .
On top of this , following the latest data input , many of you will have recently received a letter congratulating your child for their excellent , or improved attitude to learning in lessons . It is fantastic to be able to acknowledge and celebrate so many positive things in school and I look forward to the next Apollo House celebration assembly before half term , to share more success with the students .
However , a small minority of you will also have received a letter about the disappointing attitude to learning that some students are displaying in lessons . I really hope that you will work with us to try and improve this , as it will eventually have a negative impact on your child ’ s work and achievement . This is even more important for Year 11 students as we approach the second round of PPE exams in March and the final GCSE exams in the summer .
