Above: Netz '243' displays a Syrian AF kill roundel in addition to a marking signifying participation in Operation Opera, the bombing of Iraq's nuclear reactor in 1981. This jet was flown by Col Ilan Ramon and was the last jet to drop her payload onto the reactor. Col Ramon was tragically lost in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

A lineup of Golden Eagle Squadron Netz tails sits parked on the ramp at Nevatim Air Force Base. These are among the 90 jets that are now retired. The Golden Eagle Squadron has already received its first two F-35I Adirs as replacements.
