For the historic flyover, the A-10s staged out of RAF Mildenhall, and flanked
the transports as they retraced the exact flight path taken by the D-Day
invasion forces. Ultimately, approximately 500 paratroopers were dropped
near Sainte-Mere-Eglise in France, the same town where Paratroopers landed
