1.6 Erebouni Museum
Continue the tour to the Erebouni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve, where you will get to know the history of the foundation of Yerevan. The best way to get there is by taxi, which will cost you around 1,000 Armenian drams. The museum is located at the foot of the Arin Berd hill, atop which the Urartian fortress Erebouni has stood since 782 BC. The remains of the fortress can still be seen today. The citadel is encircled by strong walls in some areas which are built in three rows. The temple of the god Khaldi occupied an important place in the fortress. The museum building
imitates the structure of an Urartian palace.
