construction of the square began in 1926 and was complete in 1958. During Soviet times the square was

1.1 Republic Square
Begin your tour from Republic Square, a must-see area in the heart of
the city. It is the largest central square in Yerevan made of rose Armenian tuf stones and designed with the best traditions of Armenian architecture. Here you can walk around and enjoy the
amazing panorama of the square. There are numerous cafés
nearby and in the neighboring park where one can enjoy a short
rest, a drink, or have something light to eat. While in the
Republic Square, you can get a ticket for a performance at the State Theater of Musical Comedy after Hakob Paronyan later that day.
