Welcome to Yerevan

Yerevan Basics :

The most popular Armenian alcoholic beverage is cognac/brandy. There are several well known Armenian producers of brandy, such as the Ararat, Noy, Great Valley, MAP and Proshyan brandy factories. The Armenian cognac is highly valued all around the world. Sir Winston Churchill loved Armenian cognacs, his favorite being the Dvin. His first taste of Armenian cognac was in 1943 during the well-know Tehran Conference. Churchill loved it so

much that Stalin personally oversaw the delivery of the Dvin Armenian cognac to the British Premier. When at his old age Churchill was asked to tell the secret of his longevity, he answered: “Never be late for dinner, smoke Havana cigars and drink Armenian cognac.”

The delightful 10-year-old and 50-degree-strong cognac Dvin is a masterpiece of the Ararat Exclusive Collection, created by Margar Sedrakyan, master-blender of the Yerevan Brandy Company. The blend is

named after the legendary medieval capital of Armenia.
