Taxi
Taxi service in Yerevan is inexpensive enough to use for getting around Yerevan and its surroundings. The cost of a taxi ride is approximately 100-120 AMD per km. Most company taxis have meters, and fares tend to be competitive among taxi companies. Private taxis tend to charge more, therefore one should negotiate the fare in advance before entering.
Bus and Minibus Transportation
Around 42 bus and 95 minibus routes operate in Yerevan, served by private companies on a contractual basis. Transportation in the capital still heavily relies on minibuses (commonly known as marshrutka or yertughain taxi). However, to make this form of public transportation more comfortable and to unburden the routes, the city authorities adopted the policy of increasing the number of buses in the urban route network, while simultaneously reducing the number of minibuses.
