Getting Around Yerevan

Central Yerevan is compact and the best way to get around is to walk. The traffic in Armenia is right-hand. Urban transportation of Yerevan is carried out by minibuses, buses, trolleybuses and Metro.

Driving and Parking

Travelers planning to rent a car in Yerevan should acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP). It is important to keep in mind that the roads throughout the city are being monitored by traffic cameras and speed cameras. To avoid being fined, always follow the traffic rules and regulations. As of 2014, Parking City Service is monitoring Yerevan’s paid street parking areas. The red-painted street sidelines indicate paid parking areas. The first 5 minutes of parking are free of charge. Different modes of payment are available: hourly, daily, monthly and yearly. One can pay using mobile phone, at banks or the automated payment machines.
