Yerevan Basics :

Weather: The best time to plan your trip to Yerevan is during the months of April-May or September-October.

Winters are usually cold, cloudy and snowy, with icy roads causing traffic problems. With temperatures in January usually drops down to −25 °C (5 °F), one must be ready to brave the brutal winter if traveling to Yerevan during this season.

Spring arrives in Yerevan in mid-March, bringing a taste of freshness and greenery everywhere, with some occasional rain. During spring time, it is best to visit Yerevan in April-May.

Summers are sunny, hot and dry in Yerevan and the Ararat Valley, with temperatures in August reaching up to 40 °C (104 °F). This makes for the best time to plan a holiday at Lake Sevan and to take advantage of hiking and camping trips in the forests or mountainous regions of surrounding Yerevan.

Autumn in Yerevan is dry and warm with cool evenings and pleasant zephyrs making this the best season for travel. The landscape is golden brown in most parts of the country.

Time Zone: Yerevan and the whole territory of Armenia are located in the GMT/UTC +4 time zone. Since 2012, based on a government-issued decree, Armenia no longer observes daylight savings time.
