The Arsacid Kings Mausoleum and Basilica is another prominent historic site of the Ashtarak region. It is located 9 km/5.5 mi south of Byourakan and 11 km/6.8 mi west of Ashtarak in the Aghtsk village, alongside a gorge overlooking the Amberd River. The grave monument complex of the Armenian Arsacid (Arshakuni) Kings once contained the remains of both Christian and pagan kings of the Arsacid Dynasty of Armenia (52-428AD).
