Tour 5: North of Yerevan
Tour 5 explores the northern areas of Yerevan, including the touristic areas surrounding the towns of Yeghvard and Ashtarak and extending to Mt. Aragats. The tour guides you through popular tourist destinations and numerous medieval churches, such as Tsaghkevank and the area surrounding Mount Ara, Ashtaraki Dzor Resort zone in the Kasakh River gorge, the churches of Tsiranavor, Spitakavor, Karmravor, St. Sarkis, Hovhanavank and Saghmosavank. It also takes you to Lake Kari on the high slope of Mount Aragats and then continues to historic sites such as the Amberd fortress, Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, Arsacid Kings Mausoleum and St. Mesrop Mashtots Cathedral in Oshakan.
