AGBU Chapters that Disappeared with the Ottoman Empire

Without exception, all the AGBU chapters mentioned in the present section were destroyed in 1915, when their members were killed. The Young Turk policy that was calculated to eliminate, first and foremost, the Armenian elites of the Ottoman Empire did not spare the AGBU’s national or local leaders any more than it did the leaders of other Armenian organizations.
