The AGBU’s Local Chapters

Throughout the preceding two volumes, we have taken as our guiding thread the general history of the AGBU, and, in particular, the activities of its Central Board of Directors. From time to time, we have glanced at the role played by its district committees and local chapters. Obviously, the space is lacking here for a detailed history of the hundreds of AGBU chapters scattered across the globe. Yet we consider it important to list all of them, including those in the Ottoman Empire that were destroyed during World War I as well as those that were disbanded as a result of massive Armenian population movements, especially the wave of Armenian migration from the Near East to the West.
