New York Fashion Week just might be getting a run for its money... literally.

So what does all of this transformation and chaos mean for the future of New York Fashion Week, or the fashion show industry as a whole? Well the jury is still out on that verdict. Paris fashion week, as well as other fashion weeks in Europe have thus far been able to keep their FW events intact, including access for life-long industry professionals and insiders. Since Paris has remained the unchallenged, quintessential fashion capital of the world, it is not surprising that the French have not succumb to the same temptations that have dumbed-down and gutted the glamour and allure of its counterparts in New York. And with new emerging markets coming onto the scene in places like China, East Asia, and Dubai... places that boast deep-pocketed, wealthy residents with a sweet tooth for exclusive high-end fashion... New York Fashion Week just might be getting a run for its money... literally.

So the next time you are walking down 6th Avenue in Tribecca just off Canal Street, and you see what looks like a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk panhandling for money, take a second look. It just might be a high-end fashion photographer that doesn't know how to use an iPhone down on his luck. Won't you please dig into your pockets and throw him a couple bucks?
