Is Renault’s Megane a value proposition worth considering?
Renault introduced the new Megane
last year and now plans are underway
for local franchise, Renault Kenya, to
launch the vehicle. The new Megane
wears Renault’s new corporate face
seen in the Kadjar and latest Koleos.
It will come only in saloon body
style and powered by an efficient 1.6
engine capable of returning a fuel
economy figure of 12 km per litre
on average. It comes with R-Link
multimedia interface that houses sat-
ellite navigation, climate control and
a decent audio system. The Megane
will compete locally with the likes of
the Hyundai Accent and Ford Focus.
Prices will start from KES 3 million
plus VAT for the base model.

Ford EcoSport brings compact utility to segment
The crossover market has become very
competitive so it is timely for Ford to
introduce their refreshed 2017 Eco-Sport.
It spots a new face and styling ques similar
to its larger sibling, the Ford Kuga. It will
be powered by a 1.5 litre engine that sends
132kW to the front wheels via a 6-speed
automatic gearbox. Ford has incorporated
the voice command ‘Ford SYNC 3’ system,
which allows the driver to access certain
functions by voice activation. The Eco-Sport
also comes packed with the expected safety
features including 6 airbags, stability control
and a rigid body structure.s
