Living a Christian Life
Christian living , what does it all mean ? I am sure that this question has crossed your mind . I bet you have felt like an unbeliever or felt as if your faith was under attack when this question arose . Well , I would venture to inform you that you are not an unbeliever and no , your faith is not under attack . This question was meant to cause you to seek a little deeper , in order to bring your faith to another place in the Lord of Hope . I will be honest with you and can write with certainty because I too had this same question , and felt guilty . It was as if I was not in a good relationship with God because I had the “ Christian ” part down , but the “ LIVING ” part was farfetched to me . Oh , I was in church and matter of fact a leader in church , but had no life inside .
. I was going through the religious routine of being in church , preaching , singing , praying , and paying , but was without the living breath that caused me to be happy about this thing called life . All until one day the Lord really showed me a familiar scripture that we in the church love to quote , but lack the deeper understanding about . John 10:10b Jesus says this “… I am come that they might have life , and that they might have it more abundantly .” ( King James Version ) In the verse Jesus is explaining that above everything , we in the church think he came to give or bring , he came to give us an opportunity to actually have A LIFE . He did not say that he came so that we could spend more time in church , more time in giving , more time in prayer . No , he came that we may have life and have it more abundantly . The word life indicates that something is growing , increasing , flourishing . So Jesus came to give us a life that will grow , that will flourish , that will increase in value . We have to be willing to realize all the dead area ’ s we have and to bring those areas to God . When doing that , one of two things will happen . If God meant for them to be in your LIFE He will resurrect them , and if not , he means for you to BURY them . Either way the choice to have a LIFE is waiting on you . If God did not intend for you to live and have a life , He would not have sent Jesus , and Jesus would not have gone to the cross , and John 10:10 would have simply just read as a warning that you are going to have all your life stolen , be killed , and destroyed . But not so ! When you have come to the Lord , he says even after all you been through , He still has life and it is abundantly for you . Please do not sit down on life , no matter how hard . Today is the day to LIVE !!
