Throughout the last 20 years Kembla Watertech has continued to grow and expand and has an excellent reputation for delivering quality pipeline renewal solutions. Kembla is looking forward to the next 20 years of sharing our clients’ responsibility of securing public health. Kembla Watertech’s Chief Operating Officer, Tim Bryden, explains the company’s success, “we’ve built a great foundation with Kembla’s original Ex method lining technology, and our team led by MD Chris Meredith continues to embrace emerging and advanced technologies. Each and every year we invest in international and local trenchless solutions to benefit our clients and local markets. In the last five years alone, Kembla has launched numerous new systems including M-coating for sealing access chambers, the Climb Robot, 3D Camera Maintenance Hole Inspections, Spiral Wound Pipe (SWP) DiaFit expanding spiral lining and SWP Sliplining (SL) fixed diameter spiral lining, and UV cured CIPP lining. This ability,” explains Mr Bryden, “to understand client needs and then deliver trusted solutions, has and continues to be core to our success.” 20 years ago Kembla Watertech began operating out of small offices in Shellharbour Road, Wollongong. By the year 2000, Kembla Watertech moved into larger premises in Sydney, and larger volumes of work, starting major bulk lining contracts with clients such as Sydney Water. Kembla Watertech now operates out of Sydney, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Melbourne, and our newly established offices in Perth. We have over 150 project management and field staff across Australia working to provide solutions to clients, big and small, for all their pipe rehabilitation needs. Kembla’s first liner installation (The beginning) While implementing new technology is an exciting field, Kembla Watertech continues to install its flagship technology, Ex Method, a fold and form lining system that tightly moulds to the host pipe internals. Since installing its first line on the 2nd of June 1993, we have returned to CCTV the line at its 5 year, 10 year, 15 year, and 20 year anniversary. The line continues to operate and service the wastewater system after 20 years. ASTT Project of the Year Award winners 2012 Research and development of new technologies led to Kembla Watertech receiving the prestigious 2012 ASTT Project of the Year Rehabilitation for our reinforced CIPP lining installation in Victoria Street, Darlinghurst. This technology was implemented specifically for deep oviform pipe rehabilitation that required nearly three years of research and development with our client Sydney Water. This same project has also been nominated for the ISTT Project of the year Award 2013.
