Breaking new ground The multi-award-winning Logan Water Alliance is setting the benchmark for planning and delivering Australian water infrastructure. SNAPSHOT OF SUCCESS As one of the largest infrastructure delivery programs of its type in the country, the alliance provides Logan City Council with the capacity to deliver new and improved water, wastewater and recycled water infrastructure in growing communities. • 0 lost time injuries in two consecutive years of major construction activity As a public and private sector enterprise involving Logan City Council, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Tenix and Cardno, Logan Water Alliance is demonstrating its expertise by delivering this complex program of works. • $1.2m saved to date by reducing vegetation removal on work sites The alliance’s success can be attributed to a genuine partnership with Council, as well as a strong safety, community and sustainability focus. • 6,000 stakeholders communicated with to date 40 | Australian water man age m e nt re v ie w • $96m in capital cost savings to date due to value for money initiatives • 1m working hours and counting • 4,400 workers inducted onto work sites to date • 95% of stakeholders satisfied with the alliance’s community engagement and delivery performance • 70km of water and wastewater pipes installed to date • 44 capital works projects valued at $180m completed, with a further $80m of works underway • 2 water reservoirs constructed to date • 2 wastewater treatment plants upgraded to date
