LET THE TOOL-LESS REVOLUTION BEGIN
The first LED Street Lighting Luminaire to offer true tool-less replaceability
LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. (LRL) is a
Canadian-headquartered manufacturer of
LED-based street and area lighting and
control systems. Our customers include local
authorities, utilities and commercial/industrial
users on five continents. Our industry-leading
NXTTM and Satellite™ Series luminaires
have been designed for reliability, energy
efficiency, and performance.
LRL entered the Australian market in
2010 and currently has more than 30
installations in six states and two territories.
The response from the market has been
overwhelming. With a local sales presence,
and extensive manufacturing and technical
support, clients are assured of reliable
service, both before and after the sale. We
work with clients at the design stage, and
assist with preparation of lighting calculation
layouts. Our service also includes providing
detailed return on investment, energy and
maintenance savings, and greenhouse gas
reduction reports. Based on the demand
for our technology, LRL is expanding its
presence in Australia, an environment which
is an ideal fit for our products.
With local authority, utility and commercial/
industrial clients in more than 35 countries,
LRL’s technology has been proven in a
variety of climates and conditions. Public
lighting infrastructure must be durable and
reliable, while meeting or exceeding local
lighting requirements. LRL’s design includes
attention to component-level detail, and
in particular to power supply design, which
is typically the most crucial performance
aspect in an LED luminaire. Our in-house
designed and manufactured power
supplies use high-reliability components.
The end result is a robust solution that
delivers the lowest total life cycle costs, and
a 20 year design life.
LRL recently launched its award-winning
NXTTM series luminaires. The NXT-S was
selected for inclusion in the 2013 Illuminating
Engineering Society (IES) Progress report.
IES recognised the “unique and significant
advancement to the art and science of
lighting” embodied in our new NXT
luminaire. The NXT-S luminaire was submitted
for consideration by the IES Progress
Committee for introducing the following novel
developments in the field of outdoor lighting:
• First to offer a tool-less, fieldreplaceable LED light engine which
allows for upgrading of LEDs and fieldswapping of optics;
• First to offer a tool-less, fieldreplaceable surge module;
• Tool-less, replaceable driver: Platemounted driver with quick disconnects
simplifies field replacement and
minimizes waste; and,
• Optional built-in sensor allows LED
depreciation to be measured and
reported over the service life of
the luminaire (requires Lumen IQ
monitoring/control system).
The NXT™ series is designed for
performance, reliability, and upgradeability.
Easily removable components allow for future
upgrades as technology evolves, prolonging
the useful life of lighting infrastructure, and
substantially reducing total cost of ownership.
The NXT is available in two sizes, which
can replace existing 70-250 watt high
pressure sodium, metal halide or mercury
vapor technology. NXT is available with
standard horizontal mounting, or with a
post-top mounting option.
Our NXTTM and Satellite™ Series
luminaires are also ideal for grid-tied or
grid independent solar installations, and
Govlink Issue 2 2013
we have completed installations of this
nature in a variety of locations including
Canada, Jamaica, and Australia.
