Inside Story Headline Although some of us were back home for the summer or busy with unwanted classes many of our clubs still kept their CKI spirit going through social media sharing, and service events. Here’s what some of our clubs have been up to: “UF CKI members proudly represent the club throughout the world including Colombia, Morocco, Maine, Czech Republic, and China! “ - Melissa Betancourt, University of Florida Editor “UCF has been busy with a variety of service events including: a road side clean-up with different K-family members, filling backpacks with school supplies with Wildcats Aktion Club, helping out Second Harvest Food Bank sorting out food for those in need, and Bingo for babies raising money towards Eliminate. May 30th, we did a workshop type event at a festival it was called “Key to College” which informed high school students about college in general and organizations such as CKI. We also had a lot of UCF CKI members attend ICON. “ -Selena Lopez, University of Central Florida Editor “We started an event called July Summer Challenges Month, which was made to motivate all members, even those that are back home, to still do service projects over the summer. Since summer is a time where students are much more relaxed and have a lot more time than they usually do during the school year, we thought this was the perfect time to implement a service project that could involve everyone! Each week we have a different theme such as Up with People where we encourage our members to be a part of a service project that involves interacting with the people of their community. Members that participate are encouraged to take pictures and send them in or #SSC on Instagram or twitter. The member(s) that have done the most inspiring service will then win a prize at our first meeting! It's a very simple project, but one that we hope will help members to not lose sight of why we truly do service projects, to help our community. Whether it's in Tallahassee or their hometown! “ 6 - Amanda Gyorgy, Florida State University President 6
