2014 Team Previews

Mt. San Antonio College: Coach David Rivera wrestling squad, would look to make a run at the team state title after placing third in the individual tournament and winning the state title in the dual meet competition.

He returns three state placewinners and a state qualifier from last season. Sophomore, Nathan Pike (Diamond Bar H.S) won the state title last season at 133 pounds. He will attend to win a second state title this season. Nathan Rodriguez (Diamond Bar H.S) and Cyrus Sanai (Corona H.S) finished 5th and 6th in the state tournament in their respective weight classes. Vernon Willis (Carter H.S) was a state qualifier and Jonathan Hernandez (Corona H.S) placed 7th in the South Region. Coach Rivera expect big things from both of them.

Expect a big group of freshmen to add depth to the wrestling squad.

Other returning members; Allen Corvan (Arroyo Valley H.S) 149 pounds, Jacob Castillo (Brea Olinda H.S) 157 pounds, Joey Hamma (Ayala H.S) 141 pounds, Aaron Martinez (Redlands H.S) 125 pounds, Thomas Morales (South Hills H.S) 141 pounds, Daniel Renovato (Sylmar H.S) 165 pounds, Omar Ross (Granite Hills H.S) 197 pounds, Casper Sherow (Carter H.S) 133 pounds, Nicholas Viramontes (Bishop Amat H.S) 141 pounds and Jonathan White (Nogales H.S) 184 pounds.
