Ho Ho Ho and welcome to the December edition of Soltalk,
Christmas will soon be upon us and hopefully there will be
peace and goodwill in abundance! Not to mention two extra
public holidays here in Spain this month on Wednesday 6th
(Constitution Day) and Friday 8th (Immaculate Conception
Day). I can’t imagine there will be a lot happening on Thursday
7th either! And of course Christmas Day is a holiday here but
Boxing Day is not.

The president of the provincial government, Elias Bendodo,
said Paris and Málaga are now linked, “through art, culture and
sport,” adding the event will be a vehicle with which to
promote the city and the Costa del Sol.
The race has passed through the province on several occasions,
the most recent being this summer, and it started in the city of
Málaga in both 2000 and 2006. The full route of next
summer’s event has not yet been revealed but it is understood
that there will be at least one more stage in Málaga province.

And now to get you completely in the mood for Christmas I
have found a few of my favourite cracker jokes...
I have just heard that next summer’s Vuelta de España cycling
event will begin in Málaga on Saturday, August 25. First details
of the prestigious event, which will end in Madrid 22 days later,
have been revealed by the race’s director, Javier Guillén.
What do you call a crate of ducks?

Why did the nurse tip toe past the medicine cupboard?
She didn’t want to wake the sleeping pills.
At a press conference in the city last month, he confirmed that
the starting point will be outside the Pompidou Museum in the
centre of Málaga which he said connects La Vuelta, “with
modernity.”

For the first time in nine years, the first stage will be a ten
kilometre individual time trial, ending in calle Larios. The
city’s mayor, Francisco de la Torre, said it would be a “stage of
museums” in the form of a cultural and historic tour through
