Dax & Atragun

The US production duo are doing well to climb in the industry. Their music has entered the Beatport top 100 on three occasions and they've also received support from Sam Allan, DJ Xquizit, Myk Bee, Monovere and Aimmoon. You may remember our previous chat with Atragun, this time Dax tells us about their work together.

Please tell us about yourselves

Funny, Andrew and I started under a tree at Albright College where we were both students. I was busy studying guitar/songwriting and video game/background music when I met Andrew. Andrew had been producing for a while and took me under his mentorship to teach me the ins and outs of production. I also made a friendship I wouldn't trade for the world. We also played our first show at a small club in Reading, PA called Reverb and turned out to be our first show together.

The reason I identified with Deadmau5 is that even through the commercialization of electronic music he stayed true to his art. The one song I would recommend when facing writer's block is 'I Remember'.

I got my first synthesizer because of Deadmau5. I would not have been able to produce one lick of music if it wasn't for Deadmau5 and the music he created. I also just purchased his masterclass so I
