much.

How do you balance the costs?

That's the biggest secret! This is the reason why we have to work on that, do more marketing and make it look like a big show. Basically, certain DJs are ok to jack down their prices, certain DJs are not. I do get some discount because I do great marketing for them and give them a good service etc. But you need to maintain a competitive price. If you're planning to make your price expensive then people will not come. For Bodzin, I had put it just 100 rupees more and people complained. I was like, 'dude this is Stephan Bodzin, you'll never get this guy.' It took us a year, he was not going to come here until he saw that we'd booked Boris. He spoke to Boris and said 'can he pull this off' and Boris said 'yeah, he will do it magically.' And this is it, we did the show.

This is how the business works, unfortunately. It's normal, if you jack up the price for sugar or potatoes and tomatoes in a market just one cent, ten cents or one rupee, people will just go bonkers. They would stop shopping and go another to buy the same thing for the same price. I understand that. Even the season, I know in December, they will just buy anything because why? - It's December. It's what happened with Boris, people said 'you're crazy, why are you putting the show before the 13th of the month, the month's salary?' I said that this is where you go wrong, the reason why I put the show before is because they just got the pay from November and they know that in two weeks they will get another and then in December they will get the end of the month's salary. So, people will use the money in November at my party. It worked really well, and this is exactly what I'm going to do again in December, especially with the guy that is coming.

The Equilibrium series conveys a contrast of styles commencing with high octane German artist Deniz Bul and melodic French artist Teho. It all kicks off at 9pm until the wee hours of the morning at 6am, and if you're not done partying, the rave continues at Mystik Life Style Hotel (Mont Choisy).

What are the aims for the events series?

Smash every one and show them that we're the best! A guy that's doing a how just for the sake of money? No. The aim of the show is very different from any commercial show I've done. If you look at Bodzin or Boris, they were marketed in such a commercial way and there was no option. This also answers the question of how do you monetise this, return on investment given that the fees are expensive and tickets are cheap. That's why you need to market it so much to get the maximum people, else you would have to put the tickets at 10,000 rupees for 100 people. But you can't do that. It's simple mathematics. Keep it cheap and have bigger people, keep
