“Sledgehammer.” This is the album where their music started being played on radio stations and they were being requested in clubs.

Their second studio album, 7/27, was the most successful of the three releases. This had hits like “Work From Home,” “All In My Head (Flex),” and “That’s My Girl.” They were playing bigger venues and winning awards, it truly seemed like it was nothing but up for the group. Little did everyone know that Cabello would announce her departure one month after the group finished their shows for the 2016 calendar year.

In between the two album releases, she shared a new song with Shawn Mendes called “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which they wrote backstage at a Taylor Swift concert. This is where the speculation started that she was leaving, and there was jealousy between the other girls in the group of her solo recognition. IKWYDLS was certified platinum. She also released another song called “Bad Things” with Machine Gun Kelly in October 2016, which showed a sexier side to the clean-cut singer. “Bad Things” peaked at number four on the Billboard Top 100 Chart. She was also placed on Time Magazine’s “Top 25 Most Influential Teens of 2016,” which was the last year she could be placed on that list as she turned twenty in early March.

To be honest, I am completely excited to see what she has in store. Her most recent release was a feature on “Hey Ma” with Pitbull and J Balvin for the upcoming film “The Fate of the Furious.” She has been in the studio working on her first solo album, which she nicknamed CC1. Coincidentally, Harry Styles recently announced his first single is being released in April, which fans are coining HS1. ANOTHER connection between these two!

For the love of all that is music, keep an eye on this girl. She is already killing it, getting every magazine cover, recognition, and deserves the world! Stay happy young Camila, I can’t wait for you to shine on your own!
