Send your news, articles and notices to magazine@atworthvillage.co.uk The Golden Fleece Cricket Club The new season continues to get better. The playing record now reads Played 11, Won 5 Lost 6. Notable individual efforts include Eddie Thompson's 130 against Broughton Gifford and Toby Nightingales 6 wickets for 20 against the Canal Tavern. The opening ceremony for the new ground went very well and was well attended by over 50 visitors. They included founder players, past players, hardy supporters and representatives of organisations that have helped bring the whole project to fruition. The outfield is beginning to look very good with many of the bare areas beginning to grass over and merge with the rest. The square is turning in favour of the bowlers as it dries. Some heavy rolling will be required to iron out some of the demons recently seen. The pavilion continues to be our pride and joy and brings many favourable comments from visitors and walker alike. It provides a fitting backdrop to the ground and is frequently filled with family and visitors enjoying the games. Long may the good weather continue.
