Live Radio Tips

The most important part of a live radio show is the sound quality.

Never use a speaker phone or a wireless headset:

*A headset is THE BEST option for radio.

Adjust the microphone so it’s not directly in front of your mouth-it will pick up your breathing if it’s too close. Adjust your volume so it’s comfortable for you.

*Wireless headsets tend to create looping or distortion. Please don’t use a blue tooth.

*Not all cell phones are a good choice for radio. Some are noisy or fade in and out. If you’re going to be on a cell phone remember to make sure you are in an area that offers the best reception-and stay in that spot during the show.

*If you live somewhere that has poor phone quality, you should opt for Skype. Crackles and “line noise” will affect the sound quality of the show. These sounds cannot be edited out. Phones that are “digital” quality are the clearest.
