When Jean Hamilton- Fford asked me if I would like to review her self published deck I felt honored and extremely curious. I come to this without any knowledge of the Lenormand Divination System. I did a little (very little) research and quickly realized that this system has nothing to do with tarot and the only similarities are that they are both decks of cards. I then researched Madam Lenormand and found a few interesting articles about her divination skills and the famous people who had readings from her. I was also able to look at many versions of this deck online including some that are antique. Many of the card meanings were heavy and dark and I wondered how Jean would make this deck into something I could like.
On the day this wonderful package arrived I couldn’t wait to open it up and see what this was all about! First of all, everything mailed from the UK looks elegant, special, regal and prestigious…I love that! I photographed each step in the unwrapping because the attention to detail was amazing! Jean has thought of everything! Many have self published a deck but few have HANDMADE a deck…there’s a huge difference here. You could feel the kindness and care put into the making of the boxes, the taping of the plastic wrap and packing of each part of your “Freshly Squeezed Lenormand”.
