Markus started playing basketball when he was nine years old, and the passion the he devel- oped for the game grew from day to day. Markus is a very talented young sportsman, who is always willing to learn more. He is hard working and the natural leader of his team. As the captain of his basketball team he took on those responsibilities in a serious and mature way. Markus was, on many occasions, voted as the MVP of the tournament, his team is ranked number one in the Southern hemisphere and he has played in the South African National team for under 16's.
