Rovos Rail
Rovos Rail offers a truly first class travel experience. The wood-paneled coaches are all
restored classics creating the perfect frame for an unforgettable journey in the most
luxurious train in the world.
Not more than 72 passengers travel in 36 suites. They offer a living-/sleeping room with
beds, sitting area, a table and en-suite bathroom with shower.
The Pride of Africa combines romance and the unique atmosphere of a bygone era when
travelers enjoy the magic and mystery of Africa in a relaxed and elegant way.
Depending on the route chosen, passengers experience deserts, savannahs, lush sugar cane
fields and cultural landscapes.
The trains are hauled by steam, diesel or electric locomotives.
The dining car offers fine cuisine accompanied by excellent South African wine whilst the
two lounge cars, one in the middle and one at the end of the train, invite guests to unwind,
relax and simply enjoy the journey.
Blue Train
The Blue Train has an aura of mystique with kings and presidents having travelled on it. The
journey unfolds a world of grace, elegance and romance. Not more than 74 passengers
travel in 36 suites, each with its own bathroom including a shower or bath ,and a lounge that
is converted into a bedroom by the butler.
All cars are temperature controlled. Depending on the route chosen, passengers experience
the dry land of the Karoo, lush sugar cane fields, savannah, cultural landscapes and
magnificent mountain scenery.
Exquisite meals are served in the dining car, complemented with excellent South African
wines. The Two elegant lounge cars are the ideal place to enjoy the scenery, play a game of
cards, chess or backgammon, relax between meals or have a conversation over drinks and
coffee with fellow passengers.
