Oudtshoorn
Oudtshoorn, the ‘Feather Capital of the World’ is located in the Karoo, less than an hour’s
drive from the heart of the Garden Route. The Ostrich is the world's largest, flightless bird
and is just one of the many attractions in this area of interesting contrasts. Ostriches are
farmed in great numbers and the region produces the best feathers, leather products and
ostrich meat worldwide.
The 20 million year-old Cango Caves, near Oudtshoorn, consists of a series of hidden
chambers cut deep into a thick limestone layer of rock. It is the largest show cave system in
Africa, and one of South Africa’s oldest tourist attractions. Daily tours are offered in various
languages.
Oudsthoorn is an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes (succulent karoo,
cape thicket and fynbos) converge in the Swartberg mountain range forming part of the
Cape Floral World Heritage Site. The quaint town provides a relaxed and hospitable
atmosphere to welcome all guests.
Port Elizabeth
Port Elizabeth, ‘The Friendly City’, stretches for 16 km along Nelson Mandela Bay and is one
of South Africa’s most strategic sea ports. Regarded as the official gateway to the scenic
Eastern Cape Province, it is referred to as the ‘water sports capital’ of Southern Africa.
Fantastic weather and an enormous range of attractions make it an ideal destination for a
totally relaxing vacation. Port Elizabeth is an extension to the Garden Route and gateway to
the Eastern Cape Safaris including famous Addo Elephant Park.

The Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast is a coastal tourism route stretching from Tsitsikamma on the Garden
Route to East London in the Eastern Cape.
