Kruger, Mpumalanga & Limpopo Limpopo Limpopo is the northernmost province of South Africa, named after its northern border, the Limpopo River. It is a wildlife destination with plenty of wildlife and nature reserves including the northern Kruger National Park. It is home to the remains of the ancient Venda tribe and culture steeped in myth and legend. Limpopo is renowned for its impressive mountains including the Soutpansberg and Waterberg. There are a number of routes and trails that open up these regions with their abundant fauna and flora. The Waterberg is classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and features age-old rock formations and stunning scenery. Northern Kruger National Park is part of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Park. It boasts hundreds of trees, fish-, amphibian-, reptilian-, bird- and mammal species including Africa's Big Five.
