The Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is renowned for the Big Five and luxury game lodges of
international calibre. Flanked by the Sand and Sabi rivers, it adjoins the south-western
boundary of the Kruger National Park and is part of the Great Limpopo Trans-Frontier Park.

famous for rare white lions. Every now and then white lions are still born in this region.
Every white lion in Southern Africa owes its recessive genes in the DNA of Timbavati big cats.
The Reserve was created by 50 forward-thinking individuals, buying up the land and
dedicating it back to preservation of wildlife. Timbavati’s 53 000 hectares reserve is named
after the river that flows through it. The riverine forest that lines it attracts hundreds of
elephant, as it has done for centuries.
Waterberg
The Waterberg district of Limpopo is a natural wonder that features ancient mountains, a
rich tapestry of biodiversity, rock art more than a thousand years old and a site of critical
archaeological and paleontological importance. Its rolling savannahs make it a popular safari
destination where large herds of wildlife are encountered.
Only two hours from Johannesburg by road, it is renowned for its spectacular views which
are most evident within the sprawling biosphere reserve. Its pristine bush environment has

The Waterberg district is home to therapeutic hot mineral springs around which many of the
