Pitstop was founded in 1999 and quickly became the world ’ s most popular website to diagnose common computer problems .
In 2009 , PC Pitstop developed PC Matic , an antivirus and PC optimization software for home users .
In 2010 , the company decided to forego licensing a third-party antivirus program , and decided to build its own security platform from the ground up .
Since , PC Matic has been researched , developed and supported entirely in the United States .
