The

'Knowing'

Where Christian mysticism in the Middle Ages required one to abandon all preconceived notions and beliefs about God and surrender the mind and ego to ‘unknowingness’, for today’s associations it’s ‘knowing’ about cloud computing that counts.

Why did ETIS decide to move to the

Cloud?

"We wanted a future-proof, budget-friendly,

yet cutting edge solution that

would provide us with the flexibility to accommodate the ever-changing needs of our members and offer them an attractive, secure, relevant and interactive online space and comprehensive social media strategy." eros, nec egestas orci laoreet eget. Nunc erat velit, aliquet non.

hile the importance of cloud

computing continues to grow, most

organisations are either already

using cloud based solutions or are

planning to within the next five

years. Cloud migration has become an everyday experience, as we found out when we put the questions to Fred Werner, Communications & Programme Director at ETIS in Belgium, The IT Association for Telecommunications.

How would you describe the new

platform and services?

"We opted for an all-in-one membership

management software solution that brings

together our websites, online community, events, member database, monitoring, reporting and basic survey functions, content management, social media, bulk emailing and messaging and a mobile and tablet application.

The platform was launched in December and we moved all services and processes to the cloud apart from benchmarking and survey activities as the solution is not yet very mature in this area. However, one of the major advantages of Software as a Service is that you can outsource additional services to the provider as they develop, so we are expecting to integrate these with the platform in the future."
