The CCIB (Barcelona International Convention Centre) opened in 2004 with the Universal Forum of Cultures. Located by the sea, it is an integral part of Barcelona’s new technology and business district locally known as 22@. The CCIB consist of two buildings of great architectural value joined by and underground walkway. The Convention Centre was designed by the Catalan architect Josep Luís Mateo and was conceived to give more prominence to light. The Forum Auditorium, designed by the Swiss architects Herzog and DeMeuron, has become one of the landmarks of modern Barcelona with its majestic 25m high blue triangle. CCIB Facts: The CCIB is a modern, versatile, functional and column-free building, easily accessible from the outside, equipped with the latest technology. It offers a large range of top-quality services that can be adapted to contribute to the success of all kind of events.
