The venue is the home of the British Academy. One of the more unusual features of the association’s event was a performance workshop set up in the shared garden close to the venue. Jonathan Bate, the creator of the stage-version of Shakespeare in Love, brought it together before the garden played host to two other talks. The British Academy director of development Jo Hopkins, said: “The British Academy Soirée was designed to raise the profile of the Academy to a high level invited audience of stakeholders and opinion formers and to showcase our beautiful home on Carlton House Terrace. The venue’s flexible spaces and the excellent catering ensured we could focus on making the event as successful as it could be. We’re now planning our 2017 Soirée and look forward to the event becoming a regular tradition for the Academy”. 22/09/2016 14:39
