Recognising quality The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) held its annual Chairmen's Lunch and Excellence Awards at the Scottish Event Campus just before Christmas. It was my first proper experience of the event and offered a welcome opportunity to mingle and chat with association event managers from a broad range of sectors. It was humbling, in fact, to see such passion and enthusiasm for the industry and, indeed, such knowledge of how it works. In this issue, we look back at the event, as well as hearing from ABPCO about what the Association Event Forum at International Confex, 26-27 February at Olympia London, has in store for event professionals. ABPCO also shares with us their roadmap to a sustainable future – which is a subject that remains of paramount importance. AEM also hears from Paul Vallee, MD at Best Cities Global, on how forging partnerships is key to long-term success. The Association of Association Executives also confirms details of its forthcoming Associations World Congress. If you are at International Confex, pop by the Conference News Pavilion and say hi.
