Our Trip to Nepal

There are times when we are truly amazed to see how God has been building his Church in various places across the earth , and though they may try , the gates of hell have not , and will not , prevail against it !
I am writing this article on my return from a short missions trip into the small nation of Nepal , having ministered with John Fergusson , Robert Fergusson ’ s brother , to some of the pastors and leaders in Kathmandu . I have been humbled to my core over the dedication and boldness of these fellow believers , who have gone out to the most extreme places on the planet , and continue to do so , driven by the joy of the Redeemer ’ s message and carrying the Holy Spirit ’ s power that continually sets the captives free !
To say that I went there to teach and impart a deeper knowledge of the scriptures , including what I have learnt in my journey with God so far , would be to tell only half of the story . Make no mistake , the truth that God has grown in us here in New Zealand is a wonder indeed ! I believe that too often we sell ourselves short in thinking that we do not have a lot to offer the body of Christ worldwide .
I learnt that as we minister what God had given us to share , he then takes that message to a whole new level . There is a
Kingdom dynamic , a divine interchange , that causes the messenger ’ s inner capacity to enlarge , and the hearers having received revelation , are then filled with an even greater desire to play their part in establishing God ’ s kingdom here on earth .
We each have been given this great treasure in ‘ earthen vessels ’. May we be encouraged to let it out , and to trust God to breathe even greater life into it ! But also know , that as we go to help our brothers and sisters to build their part of God ’ s Kingdom , we shall also receive from them , a ‘ measure that is full , pressed down , shaken together , and running over ’!
You could , as I did , have the privilege to witness a people who are so committed , that they will travel vast distances to be with their brothers and sisters for encouragement . In some cases you will find that they take the same amount of time to arrive at a conference as it does for us travelling from New Zealand .
I was reminded of the potency of our salvation message when carried by people full of the power and the love of the Holy Spirit . Despite historic persecution and imprisonment , the Nepalese church in the last eight years or so has grown from 250,000 to well into the millions !
May we be inspired to continue to sow seed into the fertile soil of the 20 / 40 window , for that field is producing a hundred-fold return !
