EDITORIAL FROM THE EDITOR One of the privileges of editing Empowered is getting to read the fantastic articles as they come in. I find them refreshing, inspiring, challenging and motivating. How could they not be, when we are sharing about the wonderful things God is doing in, through and for us? Our God is many things, and a visionary and initiator is merely two of them. He not only births dreams and visions in us, but also gives us the strength and capacity to carry them out, backing his work 100 percent of the way, because he is in the business of building his Kingdom. He orchestrates things so perfectly that we are amazed at how perfect his way is. Take, for example, the article of the church plant that is currently under way in Whangarei and how God has worked everything together perfectly for Peter and Hannah Faumuina. Try as we might in our own strength, it is the Lord who arranges such things so naturally and easily. There is account after account in our missions articles over the years, that highlight how the Lord has moved powerfully in orchestrating divine appointments with people who need Jesus and how he has supernaturally provided for our amazing missionaries serving him in the mission fields of the world. I firmly believe that we of the western Church often need to be reminded about how truly blessed we are by the freedom we have to worship God, a privilege denied to so many. We need sobering reminders of the work to which God has called us and get behind Kingdom initiatives as they arise in our churches and in our Movement, for the sake of sharing the gospel while we have this freedom. One thing we can certainly be assured of; we have a creative God who always has exciting and even daunting visions and plans for reaching the lost. We need only be willing to listen to his voice, see, grasp and be prepared to serve in whatever way he has for us, because he will always give us the grace to see the task through to the end. He will meet us with resources, contacts, ideas and strategies if we will be ready to step out in faith and take hold of them. What a pleasure and privilege it is to serve our King in these exciting times!
