...even if the impulses of your heart appear to be leading you in the opposite direction of your goals, if you want true happiness and real success you have to trust and follow those impulses. in the wrong direction, because it’s guided by your accumulated life experience and all of the hurts and all of the false beliefs you were told by others that you made your own- -and not all knowledge you gain through experience is accurate. Ideas received directly through infinite intelligence, however, will bring you much more powerful results in your life, because those thoughts, those ideas, bypass the reasoning mind and come directly from a source infinitely more reliable than your filtered life experience. Listening to your inner voice plugs you in to an energy that’s greater than yourself. Trusting it will bring you to your ultimate success. When I first founded Yes to Success in 1980, my company became a resounding success from the time I opened my doors. Within the first three years after giving my initial free lecture at the Santa Monica Public Library, my seminar was being taught in twelve major US cities and in seven countries on four continents. I appeared on radio, TV and in print across the country and was an in-house trainer for several major US companies at a time when a woman doing in-house trainings was almost unheard of. Several now-renown transformational leaders were my students including Deepak Chopra, Marci Shimoff, Janet Attwood, founder of The Passion Test and NY Times best selling author Phil Town, and I had the first infomercial in the history of infomercial to offer a self-improvement product. In 1988 when I was about to have my own daytime television talk show and my Yes to Success book was in the hands of a major NY publisher, I gave it all up…every bit of it. Why? My daughter was born and although my plan was to give birth and get back to following my passion of spreading the message of success throughout the world, the core of my teaching was in order to live true success, you need to be true to yourself, to follow the impulses of truth that speak to you through your heart. I taught that even if the impulses of your heart appear to be leading you in the opposite direction of your goals, if you want true happiness and real success you have to trust and follow those impulses. So on that fateful day in 1988, I took one look at that little scrunched up face, and my inner voice said it was time for my career to come to a screeching halt. I believe that we all have authenticity meters and if I was telling my students to listen to their intuition and follow the promptings of their hearts and I did the opposite, my authenticity meter would be way over in the negativity range in their eyes. 22 www.AspireMAG.net | June / July 2020
