venings filled with tossing, turning, and voices of self-doubt dancing in my head. I can’t
even count the number of nights I saw all the hours on the clock between laying down and the
sun coming up. Three o’clock in the morning was always my favorite one. Some refer to it as
the witching hour.
As I lay there in the dark, thrashing my blanket, negative chatter screaming in my head, I’d
beseech sleep to come. Instead my mind would dredge up every misstep, every perceived
error, every thoughtless choice. It seemed that the three o’clock hour was the most evocative
because that was where the real messy feelings of guilt and judgment showed up.
