NEW PORSCHE 911 TARGA
RAISES THE ROOF AT DETROIT AUTO SHOW
A
t the North American International Auto Show in Detroit), Porsche is presenting
the latest addition to the iconic 911
sports coupé family: the 911 Targa.
While enthusiasts will recognise
cues from the classic Targa concept,
pioneered by Porsche in the late
1960s, this latest model is the first
to combine state-of-the-art open
roof technology with the distinctive
coupé appearance.
Just like the legendary original
911 Targa model, the new model
features a characteristic wide bar
in place of the B-pillars aft of the
doors, a movable roof section above
the driver and passenger, and a
wrap-around rear window -- with
no C-pillar. But, unlike the classic
models, the roof segment of the new
Targa can be opened and closed at

Seat’s 2013 success smashes sales records

EAT UK announced in November 2013 that it had
already surpassed its
best ever yearly sales
total – but its final
annual sales result has
utterly demolished the previous record.
With 45,312 cars registered, SEAT sold 6,514 more
cars in 2013 than it did in 2012 – its previous best
ever year. That’s a 16.8% improvement, set against
a car market that had augmented by 10.8%1. It is
SEAT’s fifth consecutive annual sales rise, and gives
the company a 2.0% UK market share – another
record figure.

manufacturer for private
buyers in Northern Ireland for the second year
running, with over 3,500
cars sold.
Innovative programmes such as Flexible Finance,
a zero per cent APR offer, and Lifetime Warranty
helped drive retail sales and boost market share to 12
per cent.
