Glad gender stereotypes are
being challenged: Gul Panag
A
n interest in travelling, collecting cars
and a passion for adventure may be listed as
activities perceived as
falling in men’s domain,
but actress Gul Panag
does not agree with these
stereotypes and has been
disproving them in her
own life.
Gul, who has been
riding bikes from a very
early age, said: “No one ever called me a
tomboy. Then or now.”

“I don’t think riding bikes
makes a girl a tomboy. Who
decides what girls should
do or not do? I’m glad the
gender stereotypes are being challenged,” Gul, who
has been seen in films like
Dhoop and Dor, told media.
Along with her acting
commitments, endorsements as well as social initiatives, the former beauty
queen always makes it a
point to devote time to her hobbies and
interests.
Parental feeling natural for me
at this age: Karan Johar
F
ilmmaker Karan Johar, 41, who has
been in the favour of adoption, says it
is natural to have parental feeling at his
age.
The “India’s Got Talent” judge got emotional on the sets of the
reality show when he saw a
troupe of children performing an act. Karan later
hugged a 7-year-old child
from the troupe and said
he wants to adopt him.
“I don’t have a child and
at an age where I should be
a parent so, obviously there
are some parental instincts
that creep into my psyche.
I love children. Sometimes, you do strike
a chord when you see any child - their
vulnerability, their passion, talent, sincer-
ity and sometimes just the smile,” Karan
told media.
“That can touch us and strike a chord
as a human being. Parental feeling is very
natural for me at this age whether I will
act on it, only the future will
decide,” he added.
The son of late producer
Yash Johar says his company
Dharma Productions is his
baby.
“I am building my company.
My big baby is my company
and I am seeing my company,
which is my child first, evolve
and grow and when my company graduates, then perhaps
I will think about it,” said the “Kuch Kuch
Hota Hai” director, who has no plans of
getting hitched.
Salman Khan gets just 10%
of his income to spend on himself
H
ere are some rare facts. From the
time Salman started working, only
10% of his income went
into his account, allowing him to spend it the
way he wished to. Salman
started operating his
bank account for the first
time only five months
back, which is when he
started signing cheques.
Salman has taken after
his father, Salim Khan,
when it comes to giving.
Salim sahab himself is a
man of few needs and enjoys helping others, who are genuinely in need. From the
beginning, he fixed 10% for Salman, that
he was allowed to spend on himself. A
part of the balance 90% was
used for charity and now,
for Being Human. Though
Salman is 48 years of age, till
about five months back, he
had never signed a cheque
in his life. Initially, while
he started enjoying signing
cheques, we now learn from
his sister Alvira that he is
already fed up and keeps
wanting to write a power
of attorney for even signing
that amount and, of course, no one is
willing to take it up.

I hope in the next one or two years I will
get to work with Hrithik, Salman and

her success party which she
