Another highlight at the booth was the SmartTrack , a remote camera control system that can be mounted on the floor or ceiling . The control system is a combination of Shotoku ’ s intuitive TR-T control system and the core track-based technology of MAT- Germany .

Hanada said that the TP500 and Smart- Track should sell well in South-east Asia . “ We will be focusing more on markets in the region , such as Malaysia , Indonesia as well as India .”
Leader Electronics Corp was the first manufacturer to bring a 4K waveform monitor to the market . On display was its LV5490 , a measurement and analysis tool for manufacturers , TV networks , movie studios and postproduction facilities that handle 4K content . The built-in 9-inch LCD monitor is fully HD ( 1920 x 1080 ) with wide viewing angle and high colour reproduction .
The latest addition to its line of portable waveform monitors is the LV5333 , a multi-SDI monitor equipped with an accurate video signal waveform and vectorscope displays .
Visitors to the Canon booth were attracted to the EOS C500 camera featuring a 4K imaging mode that can deliver cinemacentric 4096x2160 format , or the TV-centric 3840x2160 UHDTV format .
The cost-effective HJ18ex7.6B , a 2 / 3-inch portable HD lens , designed to support high-definition electronic newsgathering and HDTV production , also caught the eye of producers and broadcasters as the lens offers “ outstanding optical performance ”, maintaining high peripheral resolution throughout its range .
Daisuke Yoshida , senior sales director , Overseas Department , Systems Business Division of NTT Electronics , was quick to demonstrate the NA8000 , which won an IABM Design & Innovation Award at IBC 2014 .
The NA8000 is an IP Gateway with a superior error correction algorithm FireFort-LDGM FEC , which is categorised as LDGM FEC ( Low Density Generator Matrix Forward Error Correction ). It will be a part of the MPEG-H , ISO / IEC23008-10 standard .
The NTT technological development on error correction is important in that it facilitates the use of real world IP networks .
Yoshida said : “ It is easy to incorporate the NA8000 into existing workflows leading to more efficient and robust content streaming .”
Another happy exhibitor was Elvin Jasarevic , chief sales and marketing officer at Ardis Technology . His company also garnered an IABM 2014 award in the storage category .
Explaining to Alexandre Bartholo , director & producer of WEDOViDEO , why Dynamic Drive Pool ( DDP ) won the award , he said : “ It is not an ordinary Ethernetbased SAN shared storage ; it is a real solution for even the most complex video and audio workflows as it is easy to configure . You can create lists of users or groups and assign different levels of access .
“ On top of the many features , the DPP has a built-in algorithm that can analyse and recognise the type of video stream , allowing the user to see how many streams of each video type are currently running .”
Inter BEE 2014 marked its 50th anniversary … and the happy fraternity it has built up over the years was heart-warming .
