Asia-Pacific Broadcasting (APB) @ConnecTechAsia Show News - Day 3 | Page 40

40 THURSDAY 28 June 2018 @ConnecTechAsia2018 www.apb-news.com Poh Cheng Yong Vice-President of Sales, Postium ❝ The timeline in the broadcast industry is sometimes prolonged. For instance, if a company introduces new technology innovation, it will take at least six months to a year to get the customer to understand the benefits. People having also been talking about IP and remote production for many years, and some of those are happening right now. Of course now there are also other technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and automation solutions, which are now available in the market. ❞ Robert Stacy General Manager, Asia-Pacific, AJA Video Systems ❝ AJA has been a leader in the high dynamic range (HDR) colour space. We’ve developed a family of products including our FS-HDR, which is a real- time conversion solution. This is exciting because broadcasters are looking for new and compelling ways to create more exciting content, especially when it comes to sports, and this box allows users to do it simply and in real-time. ❞ Hans Massart, Broadcast Market Director, Newtec ❝ The trends that we are focusing on is around IP newsgathering. We see a worldwide decline of the typical satellite truck, which needed to be operated by engineers and is fairly large and expensive, moving towards adopting solutions from the cellular bonding world. Personally, I see a lot of uptake on cellular bonding kits due to its ease of use. But unfortunately, not always cellular networks are available and reliable, and that is still where the satellite industry is capable of supporting. ❞
