One of the highlights is the recently launched Avid VENUE S6L unified platform, which is making its debut in South-east Asia. The VENUE S6L is the newest member of Avid’s family of live sound systems, with three new control surfaces, a new engine, and two new I/O racks — all on a unified platform. Modular, scalable and flexi- ble, the VENUE S6L promises to meet any size production, space or budget requirement. According to Avid, this new offering is “the industry’s only live sound platform with 100% software, hardware, and show file compatibility across all system components”. Another star exhibit at the Avid booth is the NEXIS intelligent stor- age platform consisting of the NEXIS | E2 and E4. Kevin Usher, Avid’s director of Global Presales, Storage and Archive Solutions, tells Show News that the NEXIS system is a software-defined storage platform, specifically created for storing and managing media. Launched in 2016, the NEXIS system is now being utilised by a number of Avid customers in the region. The storage platform’s capa- bilities include being able to fully virtualise storage, so media organ- isations can adjust storage capacity mid-project, without disrupting workflows. It delivers good media storage flexibility, scalability and control for both Avid-based and third-party workflows. Designed to serve the smallest production teams as “powerfully as the largest media enterprises”, the NEXIS is reputedly a versatile storage platform built with the flexibility to grow with customers at every stage of their business. Avid’s Kevin Usher is happy to show visitors the versatility of NEXIS’ archive and storage capabilities.
