Asia-Pacific Broadcasting (APB) @ConnecTechAsia Show News - Day 3 | Page 31

@ConnecTechAsia2018 www.apb-news.com 28 June 2018 THURSDAY 31 GatesAir allows you to transport and transmit content over multiple networks Cost-effectively delivering con- tent across broad geographies is a global challenge, especially in the Asia-Pacific, observes Rich Redmond, president and managing director, international, GatesAir. He continues: “At Broadcast- Asia2018, GatesAir is showcasing our solutions to transport and transmit content across IP, over radio or TV networks. “The high-efficiency transmission solutions in our Flexiva radio and Maxiva TV platforms help broadcast- ers and network operators reduce their total cost of ownership, and simplify the launching of new services that leverage the software-defined modulation capability of both plat- forms.” For instance, GatesAir offers the Maxiva ULXTE, a liquid-cooled TV transmitter that powers over-the-air delivery across the UHF TV spectrum. Built on GatesAir’s PowerSmart Plus architecture, Maxiva ULXTE offers today’s digital broadcaster the most compact, energy-efficient solutions to reliably deliver rich, high-quality multi-format content to viewers at home, or on the move. At booth 4Q3-01, GatesAir is also displaying the Intraplex IP Link 200A, the newest member of the IP Link family of STL/TSL codecs. It is designed to reduce bandwidth requirements by over 50% for un- compressed IP transport, and is the “first” FM MPX codec to support AES 192 digital and analogue composite signals simultaneously over a secure, reliable IP path. Joining the Intraplex IP Link is the Intraplex IPConnect, an IP networking gateway solution for the fortification of mission-critical communications across wide area networks. It provides an added layer of reliability for many types of IP traffic, including HD radio, DAB/DAB+ or DRM by employing a combination of packet-level forward error correction. Additionally, IPCon- nect can bridge local area network (LAN) segments across wide-area networks with tunnelling, to enhance the reliability of programme and sig- nal transport across large geograph- ical regions with multiple receiving and transmitting sites. Richmond concludes: “Our In- traplex portfolio of transport solu- tions provide rock-solid, reliable delivery of content across even the most challenging networks, and ena- ble efficient use of spectrum with our SynchroCast single frequency net- work (SFN) networking capabilities.” Rich Redmond (left), president and managing director, international; and Bruce Swail, CEO, are all set to explain how GatesAir is ready to support all the transmission requirements of broadcasters as they transition to IP.
