@ConnecTechAsia2018 www.apb-news.com 27 June 2018 WEDNESDAY 31 New hardware encryption will enhance Singtel’s content security offerings With its own teleports overseeing more than 30 satellites, Singapore’s telco Singtel at CommunicAsia2018 booth 1N2-07 at the MBS Conven- tion Centre promises its regional broadcast customers “extensive con- nectivity possibilities and capabilities through its own satellites, diverse fibre links, secure cloud technology and protected data line of more than 200 point-to-point (PoPs) in over 160 global cities”. Tan Tian Seng, director for Sing- tel’s products and marketing for group enterprise, points out that aside from stable connectivity, its customers in the broadcast space are availing themselves of the com- pany’s satellite security applications designed to protect content being distributed across Singtel’s satellite platforms. And soon, the company’s solu- tions for delivering secured content and other data will be enhanced further, in the form of hardware en- cryption technology. Scheduled for launch in two months’ time, this new solution is being developed by Singtel in part- nership with another company. “The key to the encryption is embedded into the hardware,” Tan tells APB Show News. Customers who avail themselves of this new Singtel product will be provided with the encrypting hard- ware from the telco. The new offering will suit not only broadcasters but other industry sectors such as mari- time and telecommunications as well. This latest agnostic solution can secure any form of data connectivity that requires constant cyber security measures, Tan says, adding that the new hardware encryption solution will be available not only to Singtel’s local customers but also others across the Asia-Pacific region.
